In order to install 2,180 linear units of watermain to a new subdivision built by the City of Timmins, Chartrand Equipment employed a new pipe fusing and directional drilling method, which allowed for trenchless pipe installation.
Chartrand Equipment is one of a select few contractors in Ontario with operators that are licenced for PVC pipe fusion. Pipe fusion allows for seamless connections over greater distances of pipe, therefore eliminating the need for mechanical joints and reducing the probability of leakage or infiltration, especially in corrosive soils.
