Three Nations Lake
CHARTRAND EQUIPMENT, while working at Three Nations Lake, has developed a technique which will allow an underwater earth plug (berm) to be moved with little to no silt migration or impact to the environment and marine life situated in the area.
This ground breaking technique uses snow-making guns to build a bank of snow and ice. After this snow and ice pad is built, it is sunk into the lake, which in turn displaces the water allowing the excavation to commence. By utilizing the existing lake water for snow and ice making, we are not introducing any foreign material into the existing water table.
This innovative technique is a first in Ontario and shows Chartrand Equipment's commitment to keeping our natural resources clean and safe for future generations.
