CHARTRAND EQUIPMENT has been awarded Phase I of this two phase project.

The outcome of the project is to rehabilitate the site, relocate and cover acid generating tailings and improve the condition and water quality of Town creek. Phase I includes establishing access roads, diverting drainage into Gillies Pond, and covering a portion of tailings. It also includes the Town Creek Rehabilitation project which calls for the drawdown of Gillies Pond, the construction of a temporary and permanent control structure, the supply of 20,000 cubic meters of earth and rock fill for the construction of a 1.5 km long channel from the discharge of Gillies Pond to approximately 500 meters west of Highway 655.
