In 2005 Placer Dome Pamour Pit underwent a major expansion project.
CHARTRAND EQUIPMENT was hired to relocate part of Highway 101 from the south side of Three Nations Lake to the north side of Three Nations Lake, in order to accommodate the new overpass that would be built to allow for the expansion of an existing open pit gold mine. The project encompassed the excavation and removal of excess material, transportation of rock, and final grading; the installation of drainage culverts, the installation of culverts at the existing Three Nations Creek and at the new Three Nations Lake Diversion. It also involved the laying of granular B and granular A fill, the laying of asphalt through the entire length of the newly constructed highway, the installation of signage, the painting of all highway markings, installation of guard rails and the final grading and seeding of the highway roadside.
